Dr. Edward Neal Letourneau, MD

I would rate 0 stars if I could. I went to see him a few years ago. I had this mystery illness nobody could figure out. It started when I was 11 and after 7 years of symptoms and no answers, we drove 2 hours to see him. He was rude and interrupted us a lot. The testing he did showed I had an autoimmune disorder of some kind, but he never looked into it because, in his words, "it was dormant." I came to him with extreme fatigue, GI issues and random pain. I don't think it was dormant. In his papers he sent me, he states all the symptoms I didn't have (some of which I told him I did) and said it was "somewhat surprising" that my RNP antibodies was 3.2. Since then, I have had more/increased symptoms, which happens a lot. He also wrote "mom won't let daughter answer questions" and got mad when she did. I was 18 and the first few years of this illness I spent in a lethargic/comatose state so I can't remember much, if anything, from that time. I also get anxiety and brain fog so sometimes I… look to her if I can't remember or understand something. A year later, my regular doctor at the time referred me to another local doctor who was more experienced than he was in terms of autoimmune disorders and my RNP antibodies had gone up to 4.0. I was finally diagnosed with MCTD no thanks to Dr. Letourneau, a so called "specialist."

Dr. L was instrumental in saving my life several years ago, and has continued to follow me and my disease ever since. He is helpful, explains things, answers questions, is thorough and efficient. I trust him. He continues to monitor my disease and has helped me with other questions that have come up. He may be brusque, but he is there for me.

I asked questions about my treatment and was asked to find someone else. Was expected not to question the doctor.

He spent a hour on my first visit. Really seemed eager to figure out my health problems. Very focused and energetic.

I'm been seeing Dr Ed Letourneau since 1996 and he is truly an extraordinary physician. He genuinely cares about his patients, their care, what they need, sends us to other specialists, if needed. Wonderful bedside manner and his staff is beyond exceptional. He definitely is concerned for the safety and welfare of his patients.

The best doctor in Kansas! He is the only one who really understands what might be going on with the complicated diseases that I fight every day. He refers me to other Specialists, when it's out of his area, and then uses that knowledge to help me find answers to deal with incurable disease.

Finally, a Doctor that actually seems to care about my health and finding an appropriate treatment. Even though my issue did ont end up being in his area Dr Letourneau is following me through to the treatment and reslution pahse.
