Dr. Edward Sebastian Leyva, MD

Dr. Leyva is an excellent Dr. Very knowledgeable and actually shows care and concern for his patients. The wait time is long but worth it, that is because he takes time with every single one of his patients! Now the office staff is totally different. They are extremely rude and would rather talk to each other then speak to the patients. When you call for anything expect whoever answers to be rude, have an attitude and interrupt what it is you are calling about. Other then that Dr. Leyva again is amazing! I wish Gabby the office manager would get after these young females for their attitudes and rudeness to all the patients!

I like Dr Leyva, but the whole business operation is very poor. Two time I had to wait 3 hours to see the doctor. My appointment was at 3 pm and I didn't see the doctor until 6pm. The whole staff left at 5 pm. The only ones left were the last patients and my self. A few times I tried to call the doctor and I was transferred to the MA. Called 3 time and left message and didn't get back to me for 3 days. I had asked the to take care of some business matter and that didn't happen. I called and asked to talk to the business manager and I got transferred to another voice mail. Horrible business practice.

El Paso has pretty good doctors for treatment. The problem in El Paso is getting Doctors and their staff to look at their surroundings and the spaces they provide for waiting. Dr. Leyva has an office in NE El Paso, I have been there twice and in each instance I waited a full 90 minutes after checking in at appt. time to be given a room. After being given the room I waited 45 minutes to be seen by Dr. Leyva. When you read the reviews of these doctors, most are good for treatment but very low on Customer Service Treatment. If you go to Dr. Leyvas waiting room, the chairs are hard plastic and very uncomfortable. I also noticed a patient come in after me that was seen by Dr. Leyva while I was in a room waiting. I know this because I was the last to leave the office at about 5:30 pm. Right now I am waiting another 30 days so I can get with my insurance to find me another Primary Care doctor. If you are going to run a business, then the largest part of that business is customer satisfaction… with ALL aspects of your business. Having patients wait that long is NOT good business. Its hardly business at all. You cannot teach millennials about customer service because they really don't understand it or the necessity of it. It doesn't take long for them to fall off the radar of customers if they really (at the core) don't care about the customer experience. Its too bad. This Doctor does have good Medical Skills.

He is the best

dr is excellent; the waiting time is bad; the nurses are just fair; however their system of communicating with the doctor's special nurse is just the worst as well as the office operator which is forever busy, busy, busy. Few times I have had to personally go because of the problems mentioned. I ask the dr to please do something. PLEASE DOCTORY DO SOMETHING. THANK YOU.

It is hard to book a follow-up appointment. Doctor's schedule is full.

Dr. Leyva's staff not helpful. Left messages to call back on mother's condition requiring immediate assistance. Office staff would not return call, or would say they would get back to us and even admitted that they were too busy to assist and would get back to us when they could. Dr. Leyva too busy to spend enough time with my mother. His nurse also would not visit on monthly basis, as promised. Had to find another doctor that was willing to see my mother and take proper care of her. It seemed as if this doctor's office was more interested in acquiring lots of patients and just move them out like cattle. Very disappointed that the doctor has forgotten his oath. Definitely discourage anyone from seeing this doctor.

Dr. Leyva is an exellent Doctor. Treats patients very well, has great bedside manner and is very thorough and spends time with patient and explains very well. Very personable. Staff on the other hand is terrible. Staff never answers phone took over 40 minutes on hold to make an appointment. Office Staff has attitude along with personal assistant! no bedside manner, and could care less about patients. Only reason I put up with it is due to fact Dr. Leyva is such a good Dr. and makes up for his impersonable staff.

Let me start off with telling you that I dread going to the doctors and only go when it's absolutely necessary. With Dr Leyva, it was actually a pretty good experience. He sat down with me and asked me about a hundred questions, very thorough. Never had a doctor actually go through my entire medical stuff, even asked me about my parents medical stuff. Then he covered each of problems and gave me a plan and made sure that I understood. Even when he got on me about my eating habits and lack of exercise, didn't make me feel bad about myself, he did it in a way that made me want to change the way I took care of myself. I now have a plan and am actually looking forward to going back with him to go over blood work and see how I am doing. He's a good guy, changed my opinion on going to the doctors. Recommend him for sure.

Excellent doctor! Very thorough, covered things that my previous doctor never mentioned. Found out I had issues that were not being treated. He explained everything he was going to do for me and what I needed to do. Answered every question I had for him, never rushed, I actually understood for once what was going on. Going to send him all my friends and family. Liked him that much.
