Dr. Edward M Lichten, MD

ive been battling thyroid issues and hormonal issues- ridiculous menstrual cycles and overbearing symptoms prior to my period--- i mean to the point where youd think im insane-- thank you so much for helping me with my hormones, im forever grateful.

Dr. Lichten is my favorite doctor. EVER. I don't want to think about what my life would have been without him. His excellent treatment and advice have made a marked difference in my living -- healthwise, physically, and emotionally. Without a doubt, he is a bright, dedicated and concerned gentleman. His dedication to helping patients is unparalleled.

I was near death emotionally and felt as such physically. I was tearing my marriage apart and being a lousy dad. After my father started receiving testosterone replacement therapy and recovered many of his faculties I tried to get a similar prescription. My primary ordered expensive lab tests that reported my testosterone was high enough. Years of testing showing a precipitous drop in testosterone and my physician revealed that he 'never had any intention of prescribing testosterone'. I returned to my father's old doc who now works with a 'big box' medical group and was told that he no longer can prescribe testosterone. He gave me the name of Dr. Lichten with the proclamation that 'He is a cowboy but he will give you what you need'. Dr. Lichten is not particularly warm and he captains a small ship. However, his knowledge is broad and his obvious concern allows him to practice medicine that truly saved; my marriage, my family, and my life.

I am a 49-year-old male. About ten years ago my joy started to diminish and my body and mental state followed. Many physicians agreed my low testosterone could be playing a role. Their practice protocol left them unable to help me. One year ago after consoling me in my distress a doc took me aside after our appointment and on a scrap of paper recommended Dr. Lichten. I owe them both my health and happiness and most likely my life. Doctor Lichten is not your typical doc. He advises on the least expensive labs and procedures, yet he does not deal with insurance so prepare to do your own paperwork and have the cash upfront. Go in well read from diverse sources, including his book. He often will answer his own phone. Sometimes he tells stories. Often he is trying to help many people at once so get to the point, write down what he says, ask your questions and go get better.

Dr Lichten is very thorough and patient. He listens to my concerns and asked question to gather additional information. He did not speculate on the unknown and he waited for the labs to return to proceed with a diagnosis and treatment plan. The best part was the wait time was not long at all.

I have been going to Dr. Lichten since 2008. He is the most dedicated compassionate physician that I have ever known. I am proud to say that he is my doctor, and a very good one. His level of knowledge and commitment to practice, place him well above other MD's in his area of practice. Because of his treatments, I have an active, pain free life, despite my 2008 Arthritis and Lupus diagnosis.

From the first appointment I had with this doctor over a decade ago, I've been impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, treatment, and, especially, his quality care. He's handled medical issues that other doctors have misdiagnosed. He's addressed the cause and not just the symptoms. It's a relief to find a doctor who searches beyond what the drug companies feed physicians. A professional, he's my doctor of choice!
