Dr. Edward Mardakhaev, MD

Edward Mardakhaev, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Montefiore-Einstein. His clinical focus is on musculoskeletal radiology with diagnostic imaging and image-guided interventions of the musculoskeletal system. He has particular interests in musculoskeletal ultrasound, bone and soft tissue tumors, arthritis, trauma and sports injuries.Dr. Mardakhaev received his Bachelor of Science in computer information science from Brooklyn College in 2002. In 2015, he earned his Doctor of Medicine with special distinction in translational science at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He started his postgraduate training at Northwell Health, completing a medicine internship in 2016. He then pursued a four-year residency in radiology at Montefiore-Einstein, becoming Chief Resident in 2019 and completing his residency in 2020. In 2021, he completed a yearlong musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Northwell Health.Dr. Mardakhaev's research focuses on the imaging …of musculoskeletal tumors and trauma as well as data-centric projects including artificial intelligence extending to other subspecialties in radiology. He has shared his work in peer-reviewed publications and in oral presentations and electronic educational exhibits at annual meetings including the Society of Skeletal Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiological Society of North America.Dr. Mardakhaev is board eligible by the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America.
