Dr. Edward James Mcgonigle, MD

Did not take my anxiety disorder seriously (thinking it would go away if I wished it to). Did not return my call when I was feeling extremely anxious. Would not allow my husband to come into the room with us during counseling sessions.

Did not take my problem seriously and told me to do breathing exercises when I had anxiety (which did not help). When I felt desperate, I called, and he would not accept or return my call. Would not be surprised if there were suicides under his watch.

I've had some bad treatment in the past, but Dr. McGonigle was warm and compassionate, and most importantly, has never tried to drug me into drooling oblivion. He's one of those rare psychs that understands that intelligent, ambitious, accomplished people can be mentally ill, and in need of medication. It was nice not to be treated like a lab experiment in neurochemistry.

This is the first doctor in a LONG time that has shown genuine CARE and concern for my well-being. I did not feel rushed in any way. Doctor is very kind and sensitive to needs.
