Really long wait, well over an hour. Not recommeded.

Both me and my wife are doctor Merker patients for many years now. He always answered our questions and explained visit and lab results so we could better understand what our medical condition is. When we could not reach him in day time we left a message and he returned the call same evening. We extremely pleased with the way he treats us.

He is the kind of doctor that many of us dream of. You don't sit in his waiting room for hours, his staff are the most wonderful people you want taking care of you and his nurse Jane is the most educated and kind nurse you'd ever want helping you.... This is what medicine is supposed to be like...

The reason you wait a long time is because he really spend time without rushing the patient. He is always very caring and so far all the diagnoses were right on target. I was at another doctor and changed and dr Merker was highly recommended and now I know why. Totally trust him.

I have been a patient for 10 years, I went for a routine appointment, usually I will get a letter in the mail about a week later telling me my results are fine. I saw the doctor and all was fine in December, I got an infection on my toe went to the Dr Merker he gave me a script but drew blood to see if we could figure out what was going on, within 3 hours because he does his own testing his office manger was on the phone to me. It seems that just a little over a month later my results were not normal I was anemic. He did not jump to conclusions and asked me to return in a few days for another blood draw, ran some other tests to rule out certain conditions. After that he made a recommendation to a hematologist who was not only a colleague but a childhood friend. His diligence and caring saved my life because that was the moment cancer decided to rear its ugly head. Fortunately it was not leukemia as all preliminary results were showing, he knew he had to allow a specialist to determine… what was really occurring. I have Lymphoma which is curable and I am on the mend. When I called to tell him the course of action that was being taken he immediately took my call and assured me i was going to be fine and that i was in good hands. I thanked him for being steadfast in his follow-up to make sure I went to the hematologist ASAP. Dr Merker is a good doctor, sometimes there is a wait to see him but I know that it is because he may be calling a specialist for a patient to discuss a case or he has patience in the hospital that need his attention at that moment. I am a busy New Yorker but I will wait for top quality. I refer friends all the time and I tell them you will wait 7 weeks to get a reservation in a new eatery but you complain about 15-30 minutes wait to see a doctor about your health? I recommend Dr Merker highly.

Dr Merker is a thorough and knowledgeable dr, who takes time to listen to you and asks questions that might be relevant to your case. His staff is friendly and patient. The phone is often busy on his days in the office but you can get through. The secretary tries her best to give you an appointment to your liking.

I found this doctor to be responsive to my questions and knowledgeable. He impressed me as someone as competent. Althought the wait was a little long and there were phone interuptions, this was a very small price to pay for above average competence from a professional.

I'm surprised by the critical comments. My contacts have Dr.Merker and his staff have always been positive. His evaluation of my condition has been very thorough and the treatment effective. Waiting room time, routine contacts about tests - these are about the same as my experience with all other doctors.His manner is friendly and he has always allotted enough time with me.

His nurse was good, his recptionist was so-so. The doctor was a complete mess though. Wait time: over an hour (and was told this is common). He takes phone calls, ignores your questions, interupts you among other things. I get the distinct feeling he looks down on his patients (sort of blows you off). Will NEVER go back to him.
