Dr. Edward M. Paul is an Addiction Psychiatrist treating all forms of chemical dependency in patients located in Nassau County and Manhattan. Lauded as a qualified specialist in the area of addiction medicine, with a wealth of knowledge and experience, an expansive skill set, and a love for what he does, Dr. Paul strives to extend knowledge on the nature of addiction and the best ways to free oneself of this “chronic, relapsing brain disease” (American Society of Addiction Medicine). Dr. Paul is passionate toward this cause, helping many of his patients through effective treatment, and providing them with the tools needed to identify, avert, and cope with problematic behaviors associated with addiction. Furthermore, Dr. Paul has two level 2 trainings for Internal Family Systems Therapy. One is in addiction eating disorders and the second is on deepening and expanding.Dr. Paul is one of a very few doctors who are trained in the powerful internal family systems model of psychotherapy. …In fact, he offers group therapy using this model. He also offers hypnosis as part of the treatment for tobacco cessation. In addition, he offers genetic testing. Dr. Paul has a passion for helping, learning, and teaching and feels he is able to help patients during their times of need as an Addiction Psychiatrist.
