Dr Plimpton. I would never say that you are a good therapist, I would say that you are a great therapist. What makes you a great therapist is that you care about people and it shows by the way you listen and the time that you invest. You are compassionate and sensitive for peoples lives and experiences and it even shows in your facial expressions. I can bet that we are not the only clients that would say this about you. When your clients leave your office they must feel the same way that we do, like they have direction. You do this by researching what you are treating. You find out all there is to know about the subject and you bring the knowledge and expertise to the table with real solutions that work. You do not claim to do the impossible, nor claim to be something your not but you have a true understanding and passion for what you are treating which gives confidence to all. Especially with Selective Mutism and all realms of anxiety disorders in both children and adults. I… mentioned on our first visit that I was always hoping of finding a college student to help the girls with social phobia, and you immediately had a solution for that and followed through with it. It was like I was asking for a piece of bread and you gave us the whole loaf. When we first walked into your office three months ago, we were stuck and I was lost. I was starting to feel like things may never change and we would never find an answer. What you did for my daughters is something invaluable that I can never repay.
