Dr. Edward Martin Simon, MD

It's difficult to give a rating on the Doctor separate from the practice/facility Dr. Simon was my primary care physician for a few years ( sometime between 2005 - 2010) The Family Physicians practice at 25 Mc Cabe was excellent back then. Contact and appointment scheduling was directly with the medical office- response time and communication was often instantaneous. Usually could get an appointment the same day you called- ALWAYS at least by the following day. and there was rarely much wait time at office. Strangely, the waiting room was usually twice as crowded as it is now but service was infinitely better. When I was in some serious pain (nerve compression) Dr. Simon wasn't stingy with the pain meds. He made sure I was comfortable but adamant to keep me in check to prevent "toxic levels". Again, it's hard to say if that demonstrated more compassion than my recent experiences with many doctors, or just an indication of less stringent regulations on drugs that work (stigmatized as… "narcotic substances). He wasn't as personable or easy to talk to as Arron Bertalmio, for instance, but he made great choices of treatment/medication for my depression. I have stayed with his first/original prescription to this day. Very effective.
