The support staff, especially billing and follie up is not good. The doctor and NP are wonderful.

I have never had a better Dr.. I left a long time Dr of mine for Dr. Steinmann it was a hard choice to make but i knew someone who was going to him and i was having health issues my Dr would not and could not figure out. 10 mins into Dr Steinmann talking to me, he knew what was wrong and where to begin. Why?? Because he choose to listen to me ! Thank you.. Your staff has been nothing but wonderful to work with when i call for an appt they are very nice and great to deal with. Thanks to everyone there for all you do..!!

He spends time and listens to his patients, which is something most doctors do not do. He seems to actually care and takes his time.

a pretty good doctor, and pretty good/friendly nurses, but the front office staff is horrible, they are rude, incompetent, and I have overheard them complaining a lot about the patients. I would recommend him, just brace yourself for when you need to talk to someone at the front desk.

Dr. Steinmann is the best Dr. in Des Moines and his receptionist is WONDERFUL! Before you read other comments, please consider that the previous poster was dismissed from the office for threatening and cursing at office staff and was also confronted by law enforcement for threatening the billing personell, and is a very rude man who is only bitter because for the first time in his life, he was not allowed to push people around.

Dr. Steinmann is an excellent doctor. His receptionist is something else. She is rude, overcharges you, will not help you with problems. Word in the pharmacies around Des Moines is that she is a thief. If you complain about the receptionist, you are no longer a patient because the receptionist is his stepdaughter. I have heard that there is someone different as receptionist but I will not believe it until I see it.

This is the BEST doctor I have ever come into contact with, no matter what the reason for needing one. He has a wonderful bedside manner, takes time with his patients, and is very caring and concerned with your health. I don't know what sanction was taken against him but from my experience there was NEVER any issues. I last saw this doctor over 9 years ago and I still talk about him. I wish he had moved with me when I had to leave state! LOL
