not very willing to give a referral for other procedures he is not skilled at.......more than likely ,probably an ego problem or ignoring any patients need for relief.

I have been going to Dr. Swisher for many years. As my primary provider I couldn't ask for more. I needed to be referred to Specialists a few times (I am 70 years old) and he sends me to the best people. He is thorough, can be trusted, and knows his stuff. He stays current on the latest medical information. His nurse is excellent. His Secretary is professional and businesslike. I have never waited for more than 10 minutes in the waiting room and after I get into the exam room. I am glad I found him.

I saw Dr. Swisher for years. He's humorous at times and I believe to be caring. He did miss quite a few big medical issues for me like an atrophied gall bladder, blood disorder and migraine issues. I suffer from auto-immune deficiencies and am heavy set. Toward the end of my seeing Dr. Swisher, I felt that his comments about my being "fat" and in my 50's cast a shadow over the health issues. While I felt that he was understanding and compassionate for the most part, my last few visits with him had me leaving with a bad feeling. It is also very difficult to get an appointment unless you call days ahead of time. I was often instructed to go to the Urgent Care when I was ill. Nice people in the office and I do believe they care. Perhaps they are just over populated with patients and that affected my care the last few times I visited?

The guy is top notch and has a great office staff.

A Doc who REALLY cares... We wouldn't trade him for anyone. I travel a far distance to keep him as our Doctor.

I was a patient of Ed Swisher for about ten years before I moved to Texas. If I moved back to the Lansing area I would do everything within my power to get back on his patient list. He treats patients with dignity and is a man without ego. When he diagnoses something wrong with a patient he will refer that individual to a specialist if he is not totally confident he can treat the problem as well as any doctor. As another reviewer said, "He is a doctor to keep for life."

Ed is great--Myself--wife and all 3 kids are patients. He is a Doc for life kind of guy! Excellent.

I've been seeing Dr. Swisher since 1989 and it's been a great relationship.He saved my life by referring me to a Urologist after he suspected a change in my Prostate during a regular annual physical.After a biopsy, it turned out I had cancer and underwent surgery.That was eleven years ago....I'm still cancer free.He recognized that his receptionist was a bit "caustic" and replaced her with a wonderful lady who is actually personable.I only hope he plans to keep his practice active until I'm 90.
