Dr. Edward W. Szalapski, MD

Dr. Szalapski is an excellent surgeon and replaced my hip a year ago. Prior to the surgery, I was in a lot of pain. All staff and caregivers were outstanding! Dr. Szalapski is the best orthopedic surgeon!

Dr. Szalapski replaced my knee in January. Dr. Szalapski, the TCO staff and Excel Program made the experience so easy. I knew what to expect with regard to the surgery, the pain and the recovery. I'll be back as soon as I can to do my other knee with Dr. Szalapski. I would recommend Dr. Szalapski for any one who needs orthopedic care.

Dr. Szalapski performed my full knee replacement. He was meticulous, professional, and competent, with a sense of humor. The follow up was thorough and he and his team answered all questions and guided me through next steps.

I saw this "Doctor" twice. Both were super rushed, if he spent 5 minutes in the room I would be surprised. I came to see both hands and shoulders. He did a quick test of one shoulder and sent them in to do a cortisone shot. I had to track him down later to make sure he knew I primarily came my hands/wrists. He placed an order for one hand even though I mentioned I had sever problems with both. The second appointment he told me to simply wear a brace for 3 months and hope it gets better. I then went and saw a general neurologist at another clinic for my back. She put in an ordered for rehab and was quite concerned with his "solution" of just wearing a brace for 3 months without movement/exercise. After that I saw another Hand specialist outside of TCO (Allina). He actually spent about 30 minutes in the room with me. Listed about my left hand. Found out I had a torn ligament and my bones were no longer in their correct place. I'll never go to TCO again.

Dr. Szalapski and his staff were wonderful for my knee replacement surgery. I have had very little pain and a relatively short recovery time. Definately would recommend him to others.

Dr. Szalapski performed hip replacement surgery on both of my 93 year old husband’s hips!!! He was easy to get an appointment with, straight forward, understandable and highly experienced. He and his team know what they’re doing and work efficiently. My husband has heeled very well while Doc kept a close eye on him. We would recommend him to anyone!!!

I had rotator cuff repair surgery in October. I’ve had excellent results and continue to regain strength with exercises. Dr Szalapski and his team are great. I would highly recommend him.

I just had my second knee surgery by Dr. Szalapski. It has been a great experience with him and his staff (Jessica??) Dr. S is so knowledgeable, experienced and takes pride in no infections. He reacts immediately to questions/concerns. I trust him and if I had another knee…. I would do it all over again if needed.??

Total knee replacement summer 2021. Great results - full life back - gardening, gym, bike, walking - after 10 weeks. Support team very confident, capable and helpful.

Dr. Szalapski performed a Reverse Shoulder Replacement. He’s a straight shooter and tells it like it is. No surprises and all went as planned. Happy with surgery and would go back for other orthopedic needs. Highly recommend him!
