Dr. Edward James Tanner, MD

Dr. Tanner is an exceptional surgeon. He cares about the well being of his patients and also meticulously performing expert level very complicated minimally invasive surgery while leaving almost nonexistent scars (believe rivaling plastic surgeons). I had laparoscopic oophorectomy surgery to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube that a different doctor told me was too difficult to remove (due to what he described as obstructions). From my first visit with him he showed me genuine empathy and then after surgery he regularly checked on my progress (which went amazingly smoothly compared to what I had experienced with a different doctor who performed a similar previous surgery on the right side) and also patiently explained my lab results. I have so much gratitude that Dr. Tanner was my surgeon and could not imagine anyone else doing a better job. Thank you so much for taking excellent care of me. .

I had an unusual ovarian tumor, and finding a doctor with experience with its type even in a big city like Chicago was not easy due to its rarity. I was very relieved that this doctor had experience with complex ovarian masses. I am confident that follow up and monitoring with this team will keep me in the best health.

After one appointment he agreed to do a surgery that I had begged previous Doctors for. During that procedure, he corrected my currant issues as well as finding an even bigger one. He ultimately saved my life, of which my family and I will be forever grateful. He treats you as though you're family. I have never felt uncomfortable or unsure when speaking with him, regardless of the topic. He is truly in a league of is own.

Dr. Tanner and his staff are professional in every way. His bedside manner and genuine care for me as the patient was wonderful. He takes his time, listens and is extremely knowledgeable. He never rushed appointments and always took time to answer all my questions. He is the most professional physician I have ever had.
