Dr. Edward Gale Loy Tautjo, MD

I was a patient at Huntersville Novant hospital where Dr. Tautjo was in charge of my care. Unknown to me or my husband, Dr. Tautjo administered to me hydralazine intravenously. In documentation provided to me, by the hospital, it is clearly stated that Dr. Tautjo was well aware of my past severe reaction to this medicine. My husband became immediately aware of my sudden impairment of both my mental and physical stability and so informed the nurses. When the next doses of intravenous medicines were to be administered, my husband was informed that a second dose of hydralazine had been prescribed by Dr. Tautjo, again without informing me or my husband and without regard to my allergic reaction to the first dose already administered. My husband refused the second dose of hydralazine, which finally brought Dr. Tautjo to my room to admit that alternative medicines were available to which I was not allergic, but he took no responsibility for my deteriorating condition. Dr. Tautjo neither… showed nor expressed any empathy for my deteriorating condition caused by his administering hydralazine. I do not recommend Dr. Tautjo for any medical care to anyone.

He yelled and my mother and I when we were just asking questions about my surgery and when I’d be discharged. Every interaction I had with him was the same way. Anytime we ask a question he would get rude and loud with us and push off responsibilities. I do not recommend him at all. I was nothing but nice and respectful to him. We just wanted answers on my case since we were in the dark my whole time I was hospitalized.

I have known him to be a very good doctor with a big heart even when he still in the Phils.(OcaTennis)

Dr. Tautjo was my husband's internist while at Novant Hospital, Huntersville, N.C. Very caring, explained tests, etc. in terms I could understand, etc. Very good experience.
