Dr. Edward Stephe Walker, MD

Dr. Walker has always been spot-on in his medical judgement. He was able to quickly determine to check me for low thyroid when I saw him for a general check up. His treatment greatly improved my high cholesterol, which had been neglected by several other physicians I had seen. I find Dr. Walker to be well informed on most every aspect of health of older individuals. Also, he remains enthusiastic about his profession which is unusual for many doctors who have practiced for so many years. I feel fortunate that my family and I can rely on his extraordinary expertise and dedication to our well-being.

My 85 yr. old aunt who has alzheimers fell and broke her arm a week ago. She is a resident of an assisted living facility that Dr; Walker visits as a primary care physician. He has been treating her for 3 years. She is in excruciating pain as evidenced by her agitation and recent comment that 'she wants to die.' Dr. Walker was asked to prescribe pain medication and he declined stating that 'he did not want to lose his license.' what kind of care is this? This is an acute situation and my aunt is in great pain. We called him on the week-end because my aunt was extremely agitated and the doctor who covers for him also refused to prescribe stating that "this is not her patient, but is Dr. Walkers." When asked if he could return our call, she said "he was unavailable." I would not recommend Dr. Walker and his practice to anyone.

Strictly my opinion, but it was my experience that it appeared that the doctor did not read the patient chart as he was behind on test results and patient details. He did not return phone calls.
