Dr. Edward Gerard Witt, DO

This doctor actually takes time to listen to you and doesn’t treat you like a number...very impress with him!

Dr. Witt has a very understanding demeanor and welcoming disposition. He has always treated my addiction issues with a very professional attitude and is clearly understanding of my day to day issues and overall health.

I have been seeing Dr. Witt for about 3 years now and have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff.

I have been going to dr witt probably 7 years. dr witt has did nothing but help me.i consider dr witt my doctor and friend.

Dr. Witt is the greatest doctor I've ever seen, he's not in a rush to get me out the door, he takes his time and chats with me cordially and about the issues I'm having and I won't even consider going elsewhere unless I require a specialist.

First of all I am not a woman so I know nothing about the sexual mentioned advances. I have been a patient of Dr Witt since he left Crestwood ER and took over Southcare clinic. The doctor that was there before he took over the clinic was a drug pusher. By law, once a patient has been put on large amounts of control substances, a new doctor must keep them on that med until he can begin to ween the patient down or off them. A lot of the complaints that have been written about him are some of the patients that wanted him to continue the same dosage as they were on. When he began doing that he recommended that if that amount of substance was needed they must go to the pain clinic to receive more pills than the strength and number that he was prescribing them they would run out of there, where they had limped in there with pain. People that have mentioned the bad bedside manners, sometimes it was because he had either just had to almost fight with someone because he would not continue their… addiction or he simply had more patients than he could handle. Because he new the patients that were their simply for a monthly refill or if they actually had an issue. If you had an issue like a fever, cold, or illnesses of that for he would come in personally and perform a normal doctor visit. Everyone needs to know the whole picture be fore they make a judgment. Concerning the staff turnover, when the nurses or just folks working there were filling out prescriptions without him knowing it, then they must go. He has had to work hard to find a good crew and this day and time these nursing schools are sending unqualified people out everyday, as long as you pay for the classes you will get your degree and pass your State exam with as many preparation sheets on the internet for the nurses exam just about anyone can pass it. He is now currently getting a good crew together plus the new nurse practitioner with great bedside manners and treats the patients as good as any doctor who perform in any other doc in the box type office. All I got to say is give Dr. Witt a chance before you allow these negative reviews, because most of them were probably the ones that got turned down for the prescriptions that didn't get filled like they wanted. Think about it, out of thousands of patients there are only a few 20 or so negative reviews, so if it was all that bad, there would be a lot more complaints more that likely if the statements were true there would have been a lawsuit filed against him. Give Dr. Witt an opportunity and you'll find out for yourself what kind of experience you experience before making judgment.

I do not understand some of these reviews and I think some women think every man tries to pick up on them no matter what or where they go or what they do.I have seen this physician a number of times and hope to go back to him.He is very professional and he is the only Dr. I have ever had that I could actually talk to, and he listened.I have never been able to talk to a physician like that before because the other ones acted like they could care less.

I've been seeing Dr. Witt for 8 months now for several different things. He always recognizes me and has never been innappropriate in any manner. He has always been very thorough, taking as much time as I need to explain things. He is most definitely NOT a "pill pusher", because at one time I requested a medication that happened to be a controlled substance that I had been prescribed in the ER, and while he would not prescribe me that medication, he did offer an alternative that seems to be working. I also had an issue with my insurance and wasn't aware until 3 months later when I came in for a visit and was told I owed a lot of money. After speaking with Dr. Witt about it, he agreed to settle with me for only 50% of what I owed him. As for the misconception about M.D.'s and D.O.'s, I worked as a physician recruiter for a good many years of my life and I can tell you that other than teaching the Manual Medicine, the medical training for an M.D. and a D.O. is virtually… indistinguishable. In fact, the President of the American Medical Association made a statement " After more than a century of often bitterly contentious relationships between the osteopathic and allapathic medical professions, we now find ourselves living at a time where osteopathic and allapathic graduates are both sought out by many of the same residency programs; are in most instances licensed by the same licensing boards; are both privileged by many of the same hospitals; and are found in appreciable numbers of the faculties of each other's medical schools." The AMA's current definition of a physician is " an individual who has received a "Doctor of Medicine" or a " Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine" degree or equivalent degree following successful completion of a prescribed course of study from a school of medicine or osteopathic medicine. That's a pretty high remark coming from the AMA on your "D.O.'s"! I'll take Dr. Witt any day over some of these slack M.D.'s in town.

Good bedside manner, seemed to care about my problem will see him again, and bring my family to his office as well.Gonna make him my primary physician.

Dr. Witt seems a decent guy, but his office seems to have issues with follw-up, referrals, billing.
