Dr. Edward Arthur Woody, MD

On 11/16/2017 I went to urgent care and was referred to the Lexington ENT with a diagnosis of Acute Ear Effusion basically my ear drum was on verge of rupturing. I arrived to an empty waiting area and a rude reseptionist. I waited patiently in a wheel chair due to the demerol they had given in urgent care due to the severe pain. When Dr. Woody and his nurse finally arrived he introduced himself with his back to me. He then proceeded to look in my ear and agreed with the diagnosis. He said he was going to put some drops in my ear and wait a few minutes. He came back to the room some minutes later and said he would now cut my ear drum open. I pleaded with him telling him I have high anxiety to being cut on and that I was still able to feel my ear!! I asked him not to several times and to stop which he declined to do and told me I’d better hold still. I told him I was not able to control my bodies natural reflexes as it was so painful and I was also anxious. He then told me he did this to… 2 year old all the time and they were fine, I felt like he was implying I was a baby, as I pleaded he did the procedure anyways. He then proceeded to tell me it was his day off and I had interrupted his Christmas wrapping. He left the room after I told him he had only made my ear worse. I did not receive any discharge/ aftercare information nor did they schedule a follow up appointment. It is now Monday and I feel the same as Thursday so I call to get a referral to go to a different clinic and the nurse tells me she won’t do it !!! Wow I don’t know how this doctor stays in business. I think it’s time for people to stand up for adequate care and refuse to pay for services that are not acceptable
