Dr. Edwig Karol Plotnick, MD

Skilled diagnostically. Excellent bedside manner. Already am recommending her to friends.

I come from a family of physicians in the DC area. My expectations of care are extremely high. The review above mine hits the nail on the head when describing Dr. Plotnick as an "extremely skilled, compassionate clinician." She listens to you and truly hears what you are saying, not what someone might project onto you, but what you are articulating, and feeling. She remembers what you told her in years past and brings it all together. She will believe in you even when you're confronting times when you don't think you believe in yourself. If you are a physician seeking a referral source, take it from this patient that you will be hard pressed anywhere in the country to find a psychiatrist who will be as responsive, effective, insightful, and caring. If you are a prospective patient feeling stuck in a specific facet of your life; need help sifting through muck from the past -- or present; want an opinion or clinician for very wise medication management; or are dealing with depression,… anxiety, postpartum stress, or really anything else, you will be extremely lucky forever after to have landed in Dr. Plotnick's office or on her couch. Dr. Plotnick should be at the top of every physician and patient referral list. Five stars are not enough to sing her praises.

I have seen Dr Plotnick for about eight years, and am repeatedly struck by her caring manner. She goes out of her way to make sure I'm okay and has even called to check on me!She is intelligent, humorous and knowledgeable, yet not unwillingly to say when she doesn't know an answer. By my next visit she has found the answer, if she hasn't looked it up during my appointment.She is always on time and able to make time to fit in an extra appointment if needed. Truly a wonderful doctor.
