went in for a 2 week period and cramps and all he did was a pelvic exam and no testing . He suggested birth to fix the problem . I ended up hospitalized 6 days later because I was actually experiencing a ectopic preface and needed surgery . Dr. Chen gave no care and did no testing to check and see what was actually wrong . Prior to this issue I kept coming in because I kept having re occurring vaginal discharge issues . His feedback to me was I was over weight and that is what caused it . Hes very dismissive and inattentive . I’d suggest running far away from this practice . The Nurse practitioner Dawn is just as incompetent

I was falsey accused of being a drugaddict by this jerk. They in turn but a pee bag on my daughter to collect urine to check her 'drug' levels. I finally askedmy this was on my child. The nurse checked and came back and informed me that it was due to my 'prior use'... I asker prior use of what?? She replied...your drug use! I about come out of the bed after having a C-section mad. I don't think I have ever been so angry in my life!!! The pee bag pulled the skin off my daughters day old labia. Not one time did Chen...the ordering Doctor ever some to apologize for this. My whole labor from start to the time I left was a complete nightmare!!! I would not see this dr. group, nor would I have a baby again at FMH!

I am an RN and Dr Chen was referred to my by another RN who was very pleased with his OB care. I have seen him for the past 5 years and have judged him to provide excellent care, and I happen to be a pretty tough critic. His bedside manner has always been professional, he takes time to address both prevention and treatment of female Gyn issues and he follows up personally on all lab work. I highly recommend him to women who are looking for a Gyn in the Frederick area.

Dr. Chen is the most RUDE Dr. I have ever had the displeasure of meeting with. At 37.5 weeks pregnant, My high risk dr (from a different practice) was very concerned about my high blood pressure, swelling, seeing stars and headaches. He told me if at my appt. with my regular OB my BP was still elevated, to go RIGHT to the hospital. Well it was, so I followed his orders. Dr. Chen was on call at the hospital. Even though my BP was high everywhere else, at the hospital it was okay. Dr Chen told me all my symptoms were COMPLETELY unrelated and there was NOTHING wrong with me. He then told me I should see a psychiatrist for an "emotional issue". And he sent me on my way. I have never been so insulted and I will not let that man touch me or my child when the time comes for delivery next week!
