Best eye doctor in San Diego!

We have been a pt of Dr Chen's for 6 mos and find his knowledge is good. He is a very conscientious Dr and puts a lot of time into making sure of the diagnosis and treatment plan. He works closely with our optometrist as well.

Dr. Chen and his staff were very friendly and professional. Each visit was very personable and thorough. You can tell right away how much he cares about his patients because he will take the extra time to make sure you are comfortable and answer any questions/concerns you may have. I bring my whole family here because I wouldn't trust anyone else! I would definitely recommend him!

I have been to numerous ophthamologists and really appreciate my experience with Dr. Edwin Chen. I was actually 20 minutes late to my appointment but he still saw me without any wait. He and his staff were extremely friendly and made sure all my questions were answered so my visit was perfect. He explained all procedures, presented multiple options, and gave professional advice on everything related to my eyes, like the effects of wearing contacts, symptoms and preventing infections, and information on how my particular lifestyle effects my sight. I left with confidence knowing that I can trust Dr. Chen with my future visits. He da bomb.

I was referred to Dr. Chen by a friend and I was very pleased with my treatment there. My wait time was short and his staff was very friendly. I felt my exam was thorough and he made sure to answer all my questions & concerns. Many doctors have great credentials but Dr. Edwin Chen has it all--He went to Stanford, he's very professional & knowledgeable, but above all else he truly cares about his patients. No matter what time of day/holiday, if it's an emergency I can count on him to be there. You couldn't be in better hands! It's very important to find a doctor who you feel comfortable with and can trust--after 20 years, I have finally found one!

I have had eye issues for about 10 years now so I've seen a fair number of opthamologists. Without reservation, Dr. Chen is one of the best doctor's I've seen! My experience at his office was a very pleasant one to say the least. His front desk staff was super friendly and nice. Dr. Chen was able to see me promptly after I filled out the paperwork. He was very meticulous with his exam and explained his findings thoroughly and in layman's terms. I appreciated that he took the time to address all my concerns. What a professional, caring, and knowledgeable doctor! I would definitely recommend Dr. Chen to anyone who is looking for an opthamologist in San Diego.

Dr. Chen made extra time to see me for a retinal exam after I noticed a dark shading appearing in my vision in one eye. He listened very carefully to my descriptions, asked thoughtful questions and was always willing to offer insights during the exam. Dr. Chen is a patient, knowledgeable and thorough doctor who gives his full attention and care.
