I liked and respected Dr George but trusting his professional judgement turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life .Around 2010 I was diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia and started doing Botox injections every 3-4 months . After each set of injections I would get more and more side effects so I brought this issue up to Dr George and since he thought I was reacting to the added proteins in Botox rather then the toxin itself he advised I switch to Xeomin and that’s when things went downhill fast . I started developing general weakness ,shortness of breath ,tachycardia ,swallowing problems,severe anxiety,dry mouth and sinuses and for the next 6 months I was mostly bedridden and truly wished at times I didn’t wake up in the morning because I was so exhausted of dealing with it daily .Eventually I saw another neurologist who diagnosed me with Iatrogenic Botulism including autonomic system damage and small fiber neuropathy due to systemic toxin spread. Now more then 6 years have… passed and still struggle daily with muscle fatigue,upper body weakness ,exhaustion ,getting out of breath with mild exertion , and have flair ups where the fatigue and shortness of breath becomes so severe that puts me in bed for weeks .It also hurts that while I was dealing with all these issues nor Dr George nor his office called even once to check on how I was doing.If are doing botulinum toxin injections and have side effects please be careful with next injections because there’s a reason why there is a black box warning on it .
