Dr. Edwin Raphael Guzman, MD

Dr. Guzman was an absolute savior to my family. We were told our son had a brain abnormality at 20 weeks. We were offered to terminate our pregnancy but chose to get a second opinion based on lack of confidence in first MFM, thankfully we did. Dr. Guzman is educated, experienced, and does not mince words... I can understand why some might not like that but for me and my family it is exactly what we needed. A doctor is not meant to be your best friend although people would think that bedside manner is important for customer service... Dr. Guzman has spent his life learning and providing both positive and negative outcomes to families... his direct nature was respected.

It literally took my husband and me a few minutes only to understand that this "Doctor" is totally incompetent and inefficient, as his significant lack of knowledge combined with his astronomically high arrogance can only lead to causing pain and extreme discomfort to any pregnant woman. Specifically, he misdiagnosed a very serious condition for my pregnancy when other OB/GYNs and sonographers were saying that this is not the case. He tried (in vain) to convince me in a "scientific way" that he is right and everyone else is wrong, implementing his grand arrogance and bragging about his multi-year experience etc. After I delivered, it became 100% clear that he was in the WRONG and nurses, sonographers, and other OB/GYNs were right! Because of his 100% faulty diagnosis I had a very difficult pregnancy with implications on me and potentially my baby. After seeing what many others have written here, I can now safely say that he is not only completely incompetent but he is also a menace to… all pregnant women. For your MFM, please do yourself a favor and find ANYONE else!

Horrible dr. Ask any OB nurse at St. Peter’s. They will tell you to stay away from his moron.

Hope he gets covid and lives with trache and stops practicing. One of the worst drs ever. Hope he is cursed forever for causing so much pain to so many patients.

He is the worst mfm in entire nj. Arrogant rude with zero beside manner. Has no ethical standards. Does not care about patients. I had and unfortunate encounter with this jerk when I was miscarrying in my second trimester at St. Peters hospital. He was cruel and an absolute horror to deal with during a very difficult time. I left and went to another hospital. Even the staff was telling me he is nasty and a total jerk.

I would recommend for anyone who is loosing a baby and want his help with cerclage.

I am grateful to himI cant forget the day he did my cerclage. I was 20 weeks, they found my cervix length was 1.1 while doing USG. After seeing all outpatients, he showed up, he hinslef pushed my bed to Surgery Room.He was very compassionate. Before leaving the surgery room, he told my husband she will be here again after 38 weeks.And he meant it, I reached FT and delivered a happy health baby boy.Thank You Dr. Guzman.

Unprofessional no bed side manner rude! Thinks he is god, rude to his staff and not compassionate to his patients. Likes to speak of himself, huge ego and absolutely obnoxious.
