Dr. Edwin Vincent Motto, MD

Came to St. Luke's in Davenport, IA where I lived because my mother had renal failure and was being kicked out of the hospital in Illinois. I went to St.Lukes Hosp. and was told that if my mother was in Davenport, they'd have to find a place for her. They said Dr. Motto will be here Dr. From the start in the hospital, he was amazing. He would come into her room, not even look at me, and address her as if she was the only person there with him. Then he would motion me outside to talk to him in the hallway. I loved him just for that simple act. Also .... In 1989 he rarely wore socks and my mother always wanted to buy him some. The nurses trained on their own time to do peritoneal dialysis in the nursing home for my mother. My mother sadly lasted only about a year, but I have thought often about Dr Motto, St. Luke's, and my mother's last year in Davenport. To this day I am so thankful for being lucky enough to have been given Dr. Motto for her care.

As a physician I consider him an excellent Internist.

Dr. Motto is very experienced, skillful and knowledgeable. He also is very compassionate, friendly and has a great sense of humor which puts me at ease. I first met him when my kidneys failed and I had to go on dialysis. It was a very frightening time of my life, and I doubt anyone else could have prepared me for what I faced as well. Now, two years later, I am doing well.

He'd is a brilliant man. He is conservative (medically) and not quick to jump to conclusions. He is well informed, compassionate, current and smart! He has saved me a few times and I know of several others who would agree. We are fortunate to have him.
