Dr. Edwin Jay Smolevitz, MD

Dr. Smolevitz is amazing! He’s been my internist for a couple of years. He listens and asks relevant questions, explains the rationale for medications and treatments. He promotes a healthy lifestyle, with specific recommendations. In addition to the information he provides during the office visit, he provides links to relevant articles. He is kind and friendly and knowledgeable. I’m so glad I found him.

I've been with Dr. S for seven years or so, and I am still alive so I give him good marks there. He takes the time to listen, which not all doctors do- but should. I would rate the quality of care he provides as HIGH. He's not quick to push pills, he will only prescribe when medication is actually needed. If I were to characterize his approach I'd call it common sense, a bit conservative and hands-on. I'll stick with him.

I've been with Dr. Smolevitz for 25 years now, and with good reason. Last week he was on vacation when I had chest pains. I went to the ER and was tested for heart attack. Negative. Followed up at the office, where his covering MD also tested me for cardiac. Negative. Dr. Smolevitz got back and saw me on a walk in basis (15-20 minute wait without an appt!). He asked me about 10 questions, took off my shirt, and found the cause of my symptoms: SHINGLES! explained everything, wrote an Rx, and I am fine. 3 other MD's totally missed it.

Dr. Smolevitz is the one doctor in my life that I don't dread going to. He's got an amazing dry humor anx he's very down to earth. He remembers which of my family members are fellow patients and asks about them everytime. He made such a good impression on me that I highly recommend him to friends and family!
