Staff doesn't know what they're doing or know how to handle tricare Insurance. Poor service

Although it's not hard to get an appointment they're always overbooked and wait times range from 1.5 - 2 hrs on average. The staff is rude and there aren't enough of them to handle the workload. You wait for 2 hours and see the Dr. for 5 minutes. All they care about is billing you for the office visit, as they won't give you the time of day until you do. They just collect copays all day without building any sort of relationship with the patient. Zero follow up. This is a poorly managed medical operation.

My family and I love Dr. Banikarim. Her "bedside manner" is superb, and she's always willing to spend as much time with you in order to answer questions, etc. She's very laid back and is easy to connect with. With her, there is no such thing as "white coat syndrom" because she's so down-to-earth. I hope she never leaves the Alamogordo area. That's how much we all love her.

She has always gone the extra mile to try and help me out. I have had a lot of difficulties with medical problems and she will allow me to see the Dr and send me to another Dr if it is a very complex issue or scoping etc. She will be here to help you. It is worth a wait. They will also work with you much better than other offices if you need to cancel or reschedule. They are not rube about it and will let you reschedule if they have something open in good timing.

This is a good Primary Care Physician to go see.The Dr's in this area are more traditional like old School Physicians, however this Physician understand issues and questions of younger patients better than some of the other Physicians.She has been very helpful in regards to my medical treatment.

She has been a very helpful Dr, at the start it was diffcult trying to work with her, however after time it became much more easier as the patent Dr relationship built up.Surley you can go see a specalist if you feel you have serious issues for that specfic problem.I guess you have to give a Dr some time also to see how things work out.

Dr. Banikarim was my son's doctor for about a year. She is a very sweet person, however, I don't feel she is a good doctor. I was always able to get an appointment the same day I called, and I did appreciate that. My major concerns were with how long she spent with us and her diagnosis of illness. Almost every visit was diagnosed as an ear infection. She finally gave us a referral to see an ear/nose/throat specialist. Not one time was my son diagnosed with an ear infection at the specialist's office. I would take him in when he was presenting the same symptoms and they would run test after test, but would only find mild irritation. Her time spent with my son, which was always under one minute, was to check his ears and say they were red, and to write a prescription for the same antibiotic over and over again. I finally had enough when I brought my son in extremely sick. We waited for over an hour, as usual, to be seen. He was burning up and had a horrible barking cough. When… she finally came in, I told her of his symptoms and she diagnosed him with a mild sinus infection. I asked her if she was going to take his temperature and she said there was no need. She never even listened to his chest. She wrote out a prescription for the same antibiotic as always and sent us on our way. When I arrived at the pharmacy, I took my son's temperature. It was 105.1. I immediately raced back to her office. She had the receptionist take his temperature. She barely kept the thermometer in his mouth and it still read 102.6. She said to give him some tylenol and sent us away again. That evening he was having a hard time breathing so I took him to the ER. He was diagnosed with Bronchitis and put on a breathing treatment. I was furious that she hadn't taken the time to properly examine him. I am confident that if she would have taken the extra 15 seconds needed to check his breathing we could have save the time in between all the visits, and hopefully started the correct medication earlier. Needless to say, that was our last visit with Dr. Banikarim. My son has not been on antibiotics since then, nor has he been diagnosed with a true ear infection either. I think Dr. Banikarim is a very nice person, but I don't have any confidence in her skills as a doctor.
