Dr. Samarbafzadeh (Dr. Sam) was born in Iran and raised in Iran and England. He attended medical school and completed his medical degree at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, one of the top schools in Iran. After working for 4 years in various urgent care settings in his home country, he moved to the US for a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, where he studied the effects of the gut barrier on systemic inflammation. He then moved on to do his residency in Psychiatry at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine residency program, where he treated patients from various backgrounds with a wide range of mental illnesses.
