Dr. Eileen Ruth Conti, MD

I hesitated to judge others but seeing several “bad service comments compelled me to say that an MD office is not like a hair salon. Conti & Hoye are incredibly competent, thus incredibly overworked.Yet this couple assures you caring quality as many I referred to them attest. I am one of those. Yes you wait, yes in the press of things you might read exasperation as a slight. But they are people and parents like us all with a lot in their mind. Conti is on call for all sorts of emergencies and if that’s deemed “bad service,” then that’s too bad as her priorities are not like those of a hairdresser. Hoye is amazingly thorough and competent but he’s not chatty. Yet he fights your eye problems until he’s got them licked. I keep testing his competence and, like hers, it never failed. I thought I owe it to them to remind folks that an Ophthalmologist is not a shopkeeper and Occular Medicine is not a synch. It is a precision task demanding great concentration so it’s not a casual setting. But… if you ever open your other eye, you’ll see how much they care when they are dealing with your eyes one at a time of as a coordinated set. Don’t ask from a bomb defuser what you demand from a shoe salesman. Conti & Hoye may not be listening to your small talk or narrating as they go but that’s because, when they are handling them, your eyeballs are the most important thing in the world to them. Few MDs are like that so dom’t Ask them to sing and dance while they are laser-focused on your eyes. In the silence you can feel assured that your vision means as much to them as it does to you. So they can’t treat you as if you were Queen Elizabeth but they sure care for everyone’s eyes— that means yours— as if they were and we’re all very fortunate to have such profound skill and competence within reach. There are very few like them. That’s why I put my eyes literally in their hands. So, no, they don’t entertain us with tricks but they sure make it possible for us to see all the lowdown tricks the all business MDs pull by seeing what expert ophthalmology is all about. How priceless do to consider such professionalism? How about 5 stars instead of one?

My family has been going to Dr Conti for more than 10 years. She is wonderful. Takes time with us. However, when I or my husband calls, the majority of time, no one picks up nor do we receive a call back for an appointment when we leave our name, number, and request for an appt. (Dr Conti's recording even says they'll get back to us shortly.) I know that I personally have to call 4 or 5 times (or give up) to get a response! This is unsatisfactory; my husband has already left her practice. Last time I had to resort to calling the answering service at night and leave word for Dr. Conti. Then, I got a call from the staff the next morning and scheduled an appointment. It doesn't seem to matter if it's for an exam or a medical issue, either. Too bad. Her office staff management needs retraining or replacement. I have once again called two days in a row with no response... I am now looking for a new doctor. Nice working with you Dr. Conti. S'long.

Everyone was very nice in the office.

After visiting 3 other area eye doctorsI chose Dr Conti for my cataract surgery.She clearly explained the procedure and made me feel comfortable with my decision.The surgery was very successful and I am eager for her to do my other eye.
