Dr. Eileen M O Jennings

My son has been under the care of Dr. Jennings since high school. He is now in graduate school. Dr Jennings has been a caring and knowledgeable physician. She monitors his medication closely and we trust her implicitly. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend her to close friends and family.

Had our 6 yr old take a test showing how smart he was before she worked with him. Makes her living off convincing parents that kids are "exceptional" keeping them jacked up on ADHD meds. She is a bad messed up person - stay away

At our initial meeting, Dr. Jennings questioned me closely about how "smart" my child was (after having told me that she only works with "exceptional people"). This struck me as quite weird. She then diagnosed my child with a mood disorder and ADD, and prescribed amphetamines without any countervailing antidepressant. When I met with Dr. Jennings privately to discuss the disturbing mood changes I was observing due to the amphematines and my child's worsening depression, Dr. Jennings told me that my child was "a brat," and that her behavior was the result of my failure to impose limits, "starting when she was just a toddler. " Two weeks later, Dr. Jennings then recommended that my child be hospitalized for depression (which turned out to be a huge waste of time and money and an incredibly damaging experience for my entire family) and did so without word of compassion or solace or any invitation to check in, etc. She then made her desire to "dump" my child post-hospitalization very… clear, which meant that we had to scramble to find another psychiatrist who could treat my child post-discharge. For the record, my daughter is a sweet, very well-behaved kid who has never been a discipline problem in school or unkind to her peers. She has (despite Dr. Jennings' grim predictions about college chances, due to lack of sports and "no community services" -- uh, hello, she co-chaired a Relay for Life team for two years) been awarded scholarships from several outstanding colleges based upon her grades, exceptional SAT scores, and art portfolios. Please do not see this psychiatrist. She is very smart, and she can be genuinely compassionate and caring and lovely, but then she turns and you see her "dark side" and realize that something's seriously amiss. I felt that she was sadistic with me and my child -- and, creepier still, that she enjoyed being sadistic. It took me a very long time to recover from our experiences with her, and I will never be able to fully trust a psychiatrist again.

Dr. Jennings entered my daughter's life at a critical juncture and was instrumental in getting her back on the right track. We are thankful for her intervention. I know that she herself recently underwent surgery, so has been out of the office, which may be the reason for her delay in responding to the previous reviewer.

After a good start with Dr. Jennings, we were dismayed at how she refused to return our texts and phone calls (we needed medication and followup appt. for our child). Was blown away by the total lack of professionalism.

Like that she is conservative with medication. Also, like that she is caring with her follow-up after a visit. She is caring.
