Dr Eileen Chisholm West

Dr. West asks questions & listens intently in an engaged way. She is especially knowledgeable about women's health issues & seem to enjoy coming up with sustainable wellness plans to keep me (her patient) healthy as I age. She balances being a clinical professional & a friend who truly cares about the overall health of her patients. It is clear that her team sees her as a good manager & strong leader. Have recommended her women's health practice to many of my colleagues & will continue to do so.

Dr. West is a quality, personable, knowledgeable, and approachable doctor, and I’ve been seeking that for years. Getting the feeling that your doctor is actually listening to you versus watching the clock to make sure you’re in and out, is quite the rarity, especially in this fast-paced Metropolitan area. Dr. West is efficient but concerned, and I am encouraged to follow her instructions because of her investment in me. I’m not asking for much either, just the feeling when I leave the appointment, that my doctor and I are a team and we’re in this together. It’s my life we’re talking about here, and for the past 15 years no doctor managed to much remember my name, versus remembering details. Not even money can buy the feeling that your doctor is invested in your health and Dr. West does just this.

Normal business practice according to her staff include over one and a half hours wait minimum with each appointment! My first appointment I came 15 minutes early as instructed by her office. I waited another 45 minutes then asked how much longer it would be they said another 45 minutes. At no time did anyone approach me to inform me of any time issue although they knew I was waiting. I rescheduled appointment. Second appointment showed up a few minutes before appointment time, desk person told me it would be 45 minutes. I waited ONE HOUR then asked when the doctor would take me. The person at the desk said the doctor knew I was the rescheduled appointment but it would be at least another 45 minutes.Again at no time did anyone approach me to inform me. TOTAL WASTE OF MY TIME! NEVER has anyone called to apologize. I am a VERY patient person but this was unbelievablly rude. This doctor should be required to take a time management and best business practices course. This does not look… good for Inova that she represents!

Dr West is very friendly and she took time with me and made me feel comfortable. She may run behind seeing patients, but that is because she is giving each one of her patients the time that they need to take care of their problems. I do not mind waiting past my appoitment time, because I know when it is my turn, she will not rush me out the door, she will spend time with me to help me return to good health!

Dr. West is very caring and an excellent general internist. She has taken really good care of me for a long time. I love her staff and her PA, Kathy Barbour. The new location in Edmond is beautiful.
