Unprofessional. Dr. Schwarz, like many of his colleagues, has an inability to communicate his practice policies directly to patients. I explained during a phone consultation that I was suffering from PTSD with the accompanying insomnia. Since then, Dr. Schwarz has been incommunicado with no explanation. I suspect that he is concerned about the difficulties of treating insomnia with growing government oversight of controlled substances prescriptions. If that is the case, he should have been upfront about his controlled substance policy, rather than behaving unprofessionally. When I discuss controlled substances with other branches of medicine, the doctors in these fields have been direct about their willingness or refusal to prescribe. Dr. Schwarz should accord the same respect to his patients.
