Dr. Elaine Gayle Chottiner, MD

Worst doctor ever. Please get second opinion. She diagnosed me with cancer when I did not have it. Finally went to my family doctor who straightened things out and figured out I did not have cancer. She is also very cold and uncaring.

I took my husband who has been seriously ill for over 1 year to her after multiple tests an multiple doctors. I found her extremely knowledgeable and compassionate an as for test she could have ran 50 thousand for all I care! I want my husband well an would do anything to find a diagnosis. Dr Chottiner ran the necessary tests for the symptoms that he had, that was it. I did not have any negative experience an she called asap after the tests an we were told he did not have cancer. We will continue to find the cause of his illness an have other testing in different departments. I found her professional courteous an would highly recommend her.

This doctor told me I had a rare form of cancer. What was really wrong. Nothing. She ran a blood test and told me I had carcinoid cancer. When asked if anything could effect the results of this blood test she said "No." When researching it on the internet ourselves we found a hospital that deals with this cancer. They told me a medication I was on effects the results. When I called and told her this she told me she know nothing about it. Didn't even care to hear where I learned this information and told me if that is what they said then it must be true. She was not willing to re-run the blood test. I went back to my primary doctor with this information. He re-ran the test for me, taking me off the medication I was told effects it, and the blood test came back normal. Following that Dr. Chottnier had put me through about $25,000 worth of test that did not need to be run, based on the blood she took. She was also very uncaring, calling me at home to tell me I had 5-20 years… to live. When we asked to see her she gave us no information and told us to research carcinoid cancer on the internet. Please do not go and see her.
