Elena Bafani, MD

Dr. Elena Bafani is Associate Division Chief for Operations in Perioperative Anesthesia and Clinical Director of the Main Operating Room at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as a senior associate in Perioperative Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine and an assistant professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School.







A pediatric anesthesiologist, she specializes in the perioperative care of infants and children undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures, with a focus on operational excellence and patient safety in the operating room. She earned her medical degree from the Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania, and completed her residency training in anesthesiology before joining the Boston Children’s Hospital faculty.
