Dr. Eleonora Szmuk, MD

Dr Szmuk low key saved my life from crushing depression when I was in school, and again 10 years later after my son died (my wife actually tracked her down for me the second time). I’m not a therapy kind of person, and she would probably be the first to agree that I’m reluctant to take medications. Despite this, she seemed to know exactly what I was thinking and feeling, almost always better than I do myself. I felt comfortable talking with her, and for some reason I trusted her to help me work through problems when I trusted no one else. As a scientist, engineer, and now physician myself, I can still not understand 1% of how she does what she does. But she’ll be my person as long as she’s practicing. If you’re on the fence about therapy or medications, or as I have been, reluctant to pursue either, Dr Szmuk has my highest level of recommendation.

Dr. Szmuk is outstanding. I trust her and her recommendations. I have been in her care almost two years. I believe she gifted. She is kind yet firm. Her patient care standards exceed the norms of this profession. Her pharmaceutical knowledge is superb. Her med checks are thorough and questions are on target. She recommended a medication change and worked closely with me to make the change which was very positive. I have been a patient of several psychiatrists for anxiety and depression over 20 years. No one compares to Dr. Szmuk. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Szmuk was excellent. I've seen a number of doctors, and they often annoy me because they don't listen. Sometimes I know more about the medicines or my problem than they do. She was open-minded to looking at my history a new way, responded quickly to my complaints about new medicines, and finally found one that really worked for me. She felt warm and caring without being touchy-feely, and still being professional. Best I've come across in 20 years.
