Dr. Elham Abboud, MD

Elham Abboud, M.D., is a pathologist and associate clinical professor in the Department of Pathology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, where she collaborates with medical oncologists and other physicians to ensure that each patient’s care is coordinated and personalized to his or her individual needs.As a board-certified pathologist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, Dr. Abboud leverages her leadership and management expertise while conducting pathologic tests with City of Hope’s experienced laboratory teams.Dr. Abboud earned her M.D. at the Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria, then completed a residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the field of anatomic and clinical pathology. In addition to her appointments at City of Hope, she is a clinical assistant professor at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Before joining City of Hope, she was director of the Hematology Lab at Chicago’s Mount Sinai Health …Systems.An active researcher in her field, Dr. Abboud has published research in peer-reviewed publications, including the American Journal of the Medical Sciences and the Journal of Urologic Pathology. She is a member of multiple professional associations, including the College of American Pathologists and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
