Dr. Elihu N Goren, MD

By far, much too fat to be a doctor! Even though I have high blood sugar, he told me, not to worry I'd live to be 90!! With no explanation. He might be knowledgeable, but totally disagreeable!

I was a patient of dr gores for way to many years. I stuck with him after my thyroid cancer diagnosis because I was afraid to switch. I found him to NOT LISTEN, MAKE ME FEEL NEEDY, push off any of my concerns, make me feel small,office staff rude. I’m a nurse so I had some expectations. My first office visit I was asked to come in early as there had been some cancellations. My husband and I got there and then had to wait well over an hour. My husband didn’t like him. I suggest look elsewhere. Seriously look elsewhere.

Dr. Goren is an excellent physician in every sense. He is caring, informative, and his medical advice is always on the mark.

I had to wait months to get an appointment with this doctor. When I finally went for my appt, the waiting room was packed and I had to wait almost an hour to see him. He speaks very fast and I get the impression that he doesn't listen to anything I say. Said I should lose 10 lbs coming from a doctor who weighs about 300. My A1C has gone down but not enough to warrant rude behavior and may try looking for another doctor. Oh did I mention that the office staff is rude and not helpful at all? One of the worst doctor that I have ever seen . First his knowledge has to be improved and behavior of criticizing my physician that he do not know medicine . Finally he is wrong and my physician is right . Not good to treat for thyroid conditions . Huge wait and just try to avoid . Front office sucks .

I have been treating with Dr. Goren for more than ten years. He is extremely knowledgeable and has caught conditions that other doctors missed. In addition to his medical expertise, he is also a kind and caring doctor.

If you want to get to the bottom of things go to Dr. Goren. Waits in office are long and not the best bedside manner, but three times he was able to diagnose or figure out how to treat things that my eight other doctors could not. I had 46 kidney stones over a 10 year period. No one knew what to do. I saw Dr. Goren and with the medication he put me on I have never had another and that was 15 years ago. Would not trade him for the world.

I would trust Dr. Goren with my life. He is one of the smartest and most caring doctors whom I have ever known. Although he sometimes runs late, I know that it is because he is so attentive to each patient.

Once you get to see him and adjust to his manner he is a good Doctor. He should lose weight however. He looks ready to burst at any minute.

I have been going to Thyroid doctors from the time I was 18 for a hyper-active thyroid. They burned it out at 18 and I am now hypo-thyroid (i.e. less energy). Here is when I knew he did not the doctor for me: I was about 25 at the time and worked out a lot. I was feeling really tired during my work day and at the gym, home, etc. I told him that I was feeling tired and I am gaining weight even tho I work out....could this be my levels are too low? Without even looking at my chart he told me to start eating milkshakes for energy and sent me on my way. Maybe this kind of advice is why he is 300 pounds. Not being offensive but calling it like it is. A doctor should not be 300lbs. That is like a bus driver with 7 speeding tickets.
