Dr. Elisa Marie Benzoni, DO

Very disappointed. My initial visit was outstanding- can’t say the same for my most recent visit. I was in for wellness visit- but nobody ever asked if I was well, and my concerns were handled in an extremely dismissive manner. I actually left the offer in tears.

I don't understand how there are positive reviews for this physician- I am wondering if they are fake. Dr. Benzoni is one of the most rude, sarcastic, dismissive doctors I have ever met. I am truly traumatized after our second appointment where she was dismissive, rushed, sarcastic, and even rolled her eyes at me. I cried the whole drive home. In addition, the phones are never answered at this practice, and the staff is not welcoming. I felt like I was a bother just for being there. It's important to remember, as patients, we have the right to be treated with respect. This doctor appears to have a God-complex and did not treat me as a human being, but as an annoying part of her day she had to deal with. Please avoid this doctor, and this office, for your mental health and well being.

I was very dissatisfied with my interactions with Dr. Benzoni. She seems to be very knowledgeable about the medical aspect of her job, however she can use training in patient interactions, providing explanations to her patients, providing assistance and overall communication. I had three instances where Dr. Benzoni was visibly frustrated and angry regarding circumstances beyond my control -the office staff not communicating correctly and effectively a message I had left, the hospital not having the correct equipment for a surgery I was having and my post-op pain. Dr. Benzoni was obviously frustrated by the fact that I am sensitive to medicines. She compared me to another patient who had the same surgery stating that she was doing fine while blaming me and my mindset as being the reason I was in so much pain. It’s obvious she is not used to communicating with people who do not respond to certain treatment options and does not want to provide alternative methods or research to help with… any problems that arise. She seemed overwhelmed by a case that was not as straightforward as some.

DR. BENZONI IS SO VERY DOWN TO EARTH, SWEET, GENTLE AND MAKES YOU FEEL SO COMFORTABLE DURING YOUR EXAM. ANSWERS ALL YOUR QUESTIONS AND SPENDS QUALITY TIME WITH YOU.

Dr. Benzoni is a most compassionate doctor, knowledgeable, considerate, efficient, and all over wonderful doctor. We moved an hour away from Waterbury, but I didn't want to change gynecologists. She is well worth the trip. If you are looking for a ob-gyn, look no further.

She's terrific. I would recommend Dr. Benzoni to anyone.

She is beyond compassionate. Highly educated. Not rushed. I wish she delivered children still.
