Dr. Elisabeth Gomori, MD

Extremely long and unnecessary wait. Will have you wait around so she can gossip.... right in front of you. No respect for patient's time. Charges extremely high for everything. Will perform all sorts of tests, for absolutely no reason. Does not return calls. Does not provide results. Incorrect diagnosis. Rude, extremely unhelpful and unpleasant staff. Never again.

Unfortunately she let me wait in her office 2 hours and 15 minutes with proper appointment, and no apology. Doctors office is busy but This is disrespect for me and my time. I had a feeling she is not up with latest medical sciences and mostly adheres to old rules, besides she is so slow, you feel there is no efficiency here.

This doctor is the absolute worst; the wait time is ridiculous 1-2 hours; she does not return phone calls; gives the wrong diagnosis and does not go over test results properly with patients. To make matters worse you have to pay a copay every time you step foot in her office even if it is to read your results for literally one minute. NOT RECOMMENDED

I went here after having chest pains and at first I thought Dr. Gomori was wonderful, she was attentive and genuinely seemed concerned unllike the male doctors I had seen that looked at me like I was crazy for thinking I was having a heart attack. She gave me a series of tests to rule out heart or lung problems which is fine...I got half of the results instantly, but the other half still haven't come back yet. I have called several times and each time I have been told that she is busy and I need to make an appointment. It has been over 3 weeks and normally I would think that that must mean everything is normal, but after reading other reviews I am terrified that I have been going weeks without knowing that something is wrong. This is not good for person with anxiety. For all of these reasons I won't be returning to Dr. Gomori and I certainly don't recommend her.

Dr. Gomori is truly exceptional in that she spends a lot of time and care with each patient. She thinks about the ailment carefully and one leaves her office feeling good, THEN the problems begin. 1) One has to chase down the office for blood results. I had a thyroid disease and went untreated for a MONTH because of all the time wasted on trying to find out my results, then having to make an appointment. 2)She gives HORRIBLE referrals. Do not see this doctor if you need specialists. She has sent me to technicians when I needed doctors, to a podiatrist when I needed an orthopedist and overall to awful completely incompetent specialists. I no longer see Dr. Gomori for these reasons. She's great if you have a cold or do not need test specialists or test results. Otherwise, see someone else.

Very punctual, always listens and cares. Knowledgable and efficient

I'd probably be dead now if it weren't for her very accurate and pro active diagnosis. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but she spends a lot of time with you and really goes out of her way to help. She cares about other family members who are patients, as well. If she doesn't know the answer, she will help you find it.

Dr. Gomori is very thorough in her examinations of patients. I've never had a doctor do more tests than Dr. Gomori. It makes you feel like absolutely everything has been covered. The wait time is very long. I've noticed with doctors that you have two options: A very thorough doctor who spends as much time as needed with patients, in effect causing the wait times to be very long; or, The doctor hardly let's you get a word/question in, completely rushes the appointment, and leaves you feeling still perplexed by your current condition or problem. I had blood tests run recently for an issue that I was having. The results should have taken 3-5 days. One week later I called to check the results. I spoke to the receptionist who said she'd get back to me. Another few days went by without hearing back. I called again, pleading to get my results. One day later (approximately 2 weeks after my initial appointment) the receptionist left my results on my voicemail and said call back if I want to.

Understanding that doctors want to see a full schedule of patients, there is still no reason to overbook one's day and have patient's suffer. I booked the first appointment of the day to avoid a wait to find out the day of that 2 other patines were booked before me and i waited an hour to see her for a 10 minute follow-up whihc could have been handled over email or phone but she wanted me to come in so she could get paid for the office visit. Never again. There are too many good docs in NYC to have to deal with this.
