patient focused; intelligent; caring - and she nailed what I needed to help with psoriasis!

I researched Ms. Richards after hearing she specialized in treatment (PUVA) for eczema. After the initial consultation of which I paid for. she appeared pleasant and knowledgeable. she suggested that I receive 12 treatments of which I later discovered that my insurance paid 90%. After the 12 treatments the condition worsened, during the treatment she prescribed a dosage too high and as a result my feet and hands were burned. To add insult to injury, I contacted her regarding the condition of my hands, making it hard for me to work, I asked if I could be seen by her, at that time I was informed that I had a balance of $120.00. I explained I was not made aware during the 12 treatments (6 weeks) that I had any charges. However I offered to pay half that day, requesting to be seen for emergency treatment. First Ms. Richards denied my treatment, refused my offer to pay a partial payment after receiving 90% compensation for services from my insurance company, and gave me an ultimatum of… paying in full a bill I had no knowledge of that I was told had accrued over six weeks of $8.90 per treatment was left over after the insurance paid there part. Clearly this could have been paid each visit had this been communicate. Although the staff is lovely, excluding the Billing person, and Ms. Richards ( which I refuse to refer to as "DR") because she breached the code of ethics that real medical professionals took at the onset of receiving their license to practice medicine (concerned about the patient, not payment). Please understand, I am a firm believer that all business should be accommodated for their services. But the business practices of Ms. Richards is not one I would rate as Exceptional. She lacks compassion and appear to be concerned only about money. I would not recommend her services to ANYONE!!!!! She need to pray and ask for compassion, be grateful for the gift that God has given her to heal, and trust the she will get paid. Because he will supply! Ms. Richards I'm praying that you will take notice, and change your attitude. I strongly suggest that anyone who uses her make sure you are clear with the billing aspect in fact find another Dermatologist who is sensitive to your condition and compassionate about your healing.

It's so hard to find a great dermatologist. When my previous dr left the practice, I was so happy to find Dr. Richard. She is so nice, professional, and extremely responsive.

Wait time are really Hopkins scheduling issues. They have great Doctors and terrible Administrators. This Doctor is a really good Doctor

I had a list of about 5 simple questions written out in preperation for the visit. I really hadn't seen a dermatologist in years and I'm 36 so I had some questions on how to best take care of myself. She seemed annoyed and wanting to cut the appointment short. Was definitely disappointed. Would not recommend her to anyone, and if you visit her at Bayview, you have to pay for not only her visit, but for going to the hospital. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
