Dr. Elise Deborah Resnick, DO

Dr. Resnick changed my life, and I am forever grateful. I didn't know life without mania/depression until I became her patient. Thank you so much!

As a clinical social worker and counselor, I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Resnick. We have worked with individuals, families and therapy groups together. Dr. Resnick cares about her patients and listens to them. She is a genuinely holistic physician. She considers family and work situations as well as health and general medical issues. When medication is appropriate, she is experienced and knowledgeable and is skillful at finding the right medication and the right dose. Most significant, in my experience Dr. Resnick's patients get better. I highly recommend her.

I've been seeing Dr. Resnick for many many years now and even when she switched offices I chose to stay with her because she is personable and attentive. One of my favorite things about her is that she is very responsive. In fact, when I was having a hard time in my life, I cold called her office from a list of potential psychiatrists and she was the only person to respond promptly and empathetically. I have had other psychiatrists in my life, but I have stayed with Dr. Resnick because of her ability to really make me feel heard. I also appreciate that she has a holistic approach to medicine. She is encouraging and supportive of my personal hobbies and aspirations.

She's the worst shrink I've ever seen. Don't even waste you're time it was my first visit 2 things one she forgot to give me my prescription I had to knock on her door and remind her and two she put me on 20 mg of Prozac when you're supposed to work your way up. Either way unhappy and worst doctor I've ever had I'm never going back to her

I have been her patient for over 2 years and she has helped me so much. I'm surprised at the other reviews on here because she has always been compassionate and professional! I actually appreciate her directness and after 3 years of "talk therapy" with another psychologist and getting no relief, meeting her helped me immensely. She listens but then offers practical advice and makes you accountable for taking an active role in changing your life, instead of just letting you tell your "story." She also prescribed different antidepressants and at different dosages until we found the right fit. She seems very conscientious and I'm glad I hadn't seen these reviews because I feel she has helped me change my life!

I never made it into Dr. Elise Resnick's office because she told me she doesn't take patients who are suicidal. Granted, I am not suicidal. I am generally happy, I just suffer from terrible PMS that makes me feel suicidal one-two days a month. She referred me to my general practitioner. My GP?! That makes no sense. I need psychiatric help, not my blood pressure stats. Honestly, this woman should get out of medicine. She is terrible at her job.

This doctor prescribes medication, refuses to return phone calls to established patients and talks about her own history of mental health issues in session. In this field, her behavior is simply unacceptable, dangerous and should be reported. I just dont want to do her practice harmm but I feel the responsiblity to warn others. This woman is NOT a therapist, responsible physician nor does talk therapy...except about herself.

I have only seen Dr. Resnick a couple of times and will not be going back. She had put me on Effexor XR after I had explained to her that it had helped with my anxiety/depression in the past. She seemed ok, no complaints on my part about the 2 appointments we had. The issues started after I was having trouble making it to a follow - up appointment. She had a couple slots open before leaving town for a few weeks..unfortunately those didnt work for me. Instead of giving me a prescription for those two weeks and letting me come in at a time where I can actually make it, she told me that she would not refill my prescription until she could see me. I would just have to wait a couple weeks till she got back. (just fyi: you are NOT supposed to stop this drug cold turkey. The withdrawals from stopping this medication all at once are horrendous) Upon asking her what I was supposed to do about the horrible withdrawals she replied that if I needed to I could go to the ER. Who says that to a… patient???I felt like i had been slapped. So basically, in her logical mind, letting me go off a medication suddenly is safer than giving me a prescription for a couple weeks and letting me come in at a convenient time that works for BOTH of us. Unfortunately, I can't just waltz out of work. Things need to be rescheduled and I need to find someone to cover during work hours, even if only for an hour. I have enough people in my life who make things complicated, the last thing I need is an unflexible psychiatrist. So after having thrown up once today from the sudden stop to my meds, I'm laying here with a blinding headache. I will have to drag myself to a walk in doctor because I just can't deal with feeling like this (and I'll have to start looking for a new psychiatrist). I want to cry/throw up/and die all at once.

This shrink definitely needs her own shrink.

I had been a patient of Dr. Resnick for several years. On two occasions, she demonstrated behavior that I found questionable as a doctor, but gave her the benefit of the doubt. On my most recent (and final) visit, I questioned her about one of her policies. Not only would she not answer me, but she all but kicked me out of her office and said "good luck to you". Clearly she has some personal issues that she let cross into her professional life which made her behavior unprofessional, unfair and unkind. I will not be seeing her again.
