Dr. Eliseo Joaquin Perez-Stable, MD

Internal Medicine Dr. Eliseo J. Perez-Stable, an internist who provides primary care, is chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at UCSF Medical Center. He is particularly interested in improving the health of poor and minority patients. In his research, he focuses on reducing health risks, such as smoking, in minority populations. He is the director of the Center for Aging in Diverse Communities, a center that works to help alleviate disparities in health care and to help better understand how health professionals can communicate cross-culturally, and co-director of the UCSF Medical Effectiveness Research Center for Diverse Populations, which is addressing issues for African Americans, Asians and Latinos in the areas of cancer, cardiovascular disease and reproductive health. Perez-Stable is a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
