Dr. Elisha Magdalene Collins, MD

I just had two separate experiences with Dr. Collins. The first was a colonoscopy - my first. I'm 72 and I seriously afraid both of the procedure and fear of what might show up. She calmly went over the entire procedure, reassuring me at each step. Her neat personality and her sunshine smile made it almost impossible for me not to feel at ease and totally confident that I was in good hands. The second experience came from a large bulge that showed up after a knee replacement a few months earlier. She was not involved with the knee surgery, but during my rehab, while straining to raise my leg, something the size of a baby's head popped up under my rib cage. The knee surgeon told me that I had a hernia but before repairing it, Dr. Collins ordered a CT Scan, which showed that it was not a hernia or a tumor, but a stretched lining in my muscle tissue. I still have the lump, but she assured me that it would reduce in size with exercise and diet. The key thing was no additional surgery.… I am so pleased with her care and and the knowledge she shows, I hope to never need to work with anyone but her.
