I have worked in various settings, primarily focusing on substance abuse, mental health, anger management, self-worth, and codependency. In addition to my expertise in substance abuse and mental health, I have also assisted clients dealing with suicidal ideation, grief and loss, and trauma.My goal is to assist my clients for as long as their needs are met and then allow them to make their way free from addiction and trauma. When trauma strikes, it shakes you to your core. Every part of your being is constantly on edge, gripped by fear of both the known and the unknown. Painful memories become overwhelmingly burdensome, often driving individuals to seek solace in alcohol and substances. What starts as a temporary escape from reality can eventually spiral into a relentless cycle of despair and hardship. At this point, trauma becomes intertwined with addiction to alcohol or substances, accompanied by all the feelings of hopelessness that come with it. I firmly believe that counseling …should be tailored to each client's unique needs and background because everyone responds differently to the circumstances that led them to seek help. No two clients are alike. My ultimate goal is to guide my clients toward envisioning a future beyond the shadows of addiction and mental health challenges. I aim to provide support for as long as their needs require and then empower them to chart their path toward recovery from addiction and trauma. The outcome of substance abuse and trauma-informed therapy, from my perspective, is to empower clients to feel comfortable, prepared, and self-aware. Life unfolds on its own terms, and cultivating a resilient, positive mindset, free from negativity or stigma, is the key to managing life's challenges.
