Dr. Eliza Apple Bennett, MD

I was referred to Dr. Bennett by my cardiologist for a sterilization procedure due to the high risks pregnancy poses to my health. During our initial consult, Dr. Bennett made several passive-aggressive remarks about her personal preference for IUDs over sterilization. Despite my repeated explanation that I do not want children and that pregnancy would severely worsen my condition, I felt my concerns were not fully respected. We scheduled the procedure three months in advance. While Dr. Bennett expressed concern about the anesthesia risks related to my cardiac condition, I validated those concerns and felt confident she would coordinate appropriately to ensure my safety. However, just one week before my scheduled surgery, Dr. Bennett canceled the procedure. I was told the anesthesia team had only just reviewed my chart and determined they could not proceed due to the absence of a cardiac anesthesiologist on staff. This came as a shock and deep disappointment, given that my referral… was based specifically on my cardiac needs. After following up with my cardiologist, I discovered that Dr. Bennett never consulted them before scheduling the procedure. This lack of coordination felt negligent—especially considering the seriousness of my condition and the urgency I had expressed from the start. The situation has left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. I can’t help but feel that Dr. Bennett’s personal biases may have influenced her care decisions. Her comments about sterilization continue to linger in my mind, and the last-minute cancellation further eroded my trust. I would not recommend this office to anyone who is high-risk, chronically ill, or disabled. Patients deserve providers who take their concerns seriously and coordinate care with the appropriate specialists—especially when lives and long-term health are on the line.

Dr. Bennett is an amazing physician. Her attentive, respectful, caring, and personable attitude makes me look forward to my appointments with her. Dr. Bennett is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to discuss different options very thoroughly. She has been there for me and helped me through my difficult pregnancies. I cannot recommend her enough, she is the best!

Dr. Bennett recommended I get an IUD when I was in excruciating pain from endometriosis. Not only did she fail to discuss with me that I could be sedated OR other implant options, she LAUGHED at me when I screamed and bawled and howled at the pain! She did this in front of the student shadowing her. I fought this, and GHC told me that she laughed "to comfort me" No she did not. She should not be practicing medicine if she can't give the most basic care for her patients. This woman is an awful human being. See anyone else besides her.

I started seeing Dr. Bennett after my old OB/GYN retired. Right at the first visit it became apparent that there was an issue that needed immediate attention. Although this was the first visit and we did know each other, she did a wonderful job in explaining everything to me and addressing my concerns. I felt I could talk to her and she would listen. In the weeks that followed my initial visit, I had to make a few decisions regarding my care and she did a very good job in explaining everything and leaving the final decision up to me. She gave me the facts, answered all my questions and then supported me in my decision. Unlike some OB/GYNs I have visited over the years she did not talk down or was in any way patronizing. She was simply kind and caring. I am so grateful I have found her and I would definitely recommend her.
