Dr. Eliza Wright Menninger, MD

She put me in a Category in which I do not belong. I tried my very best to be honest with what she wanted to know and she sat there in front of the computer with no expression on her face and said nothing in response to my answers that I was very willing to accurately answer. I have a problem hearing voices at an unusually rapid rate and Her Judgment caused me to want to hurt myself. It resulted in self harm.

To the Previous Review Stating: “But, the moment I was authentically sad, even for a second, she gave me the kindest and most subtle whisper before I even let go of a tear.” It’s hilarious that this is Eliza’s best review. The Whisper part made me authentically laugh

makes a patient feel special (too special) at first. then becomes a friend. then reveals judgmental and political attitudes and unethical actions. then becomes busy and uninterested. then becomes neglectful. all while over-prescribing and straddling ethical boundaries in dangerous ways.

This person is Anti LGBTQ and a professional Hater with a capital H.

Dr. Menninger will happily talk about herself for an entire session. I understand why some people would be taken aback. The secret is, she will only respond to your authentic self. If you show her a mask she will talk about knitting. But, the moment I was authentically sad, even for a second, she gave me the kindest and most subtle whisper before I even let go of a tear. Most psychiatrists try to meddle and fix what isn’t broken. Others don’t validate the most direct statement of distress. Menninger is superior. But, you will only get exactly as much as you are willing to write with your own fevered and shaking hand. She will not do anything for you. If Someone real speaks and you listen with your one good ear, She will do everything you need.

Severe deficits in bedside manner, and handling of ‘in-the-moment’ patient crises during appointments. (Anxiety and panic are met with silence.) Humanistic interviewing skills are lacking as well, and serve as the general basis of my complaint. As a patient I was taken aback, seeing as Dr. Menninger’s “interviewing skills training” has been published, and she trains students in said “interviewing skills” as an adjunct educator at a major Ivy League. However... ‘Medical student 101’ needs to be revisited by Dr. Menninger: Listen. And do no harm. And please don’t tell patients to “google” which antidepressant they’d prefer. That’s precisely why we need YOU! But I could digress on that “google recommendation”. You need to revisit your CE credits...experientially, and with a ‘minimally’ empathetic intention, Dr. Menninger.

Dr. Menninger was a tremendous help to me. She took time with me, really went deep in my history and got me on a regiment that worked very well. She even took steps to make sure my health in other areas were satisfied by reaching out to my primary care.

This doctor was too busy trying to impress her intern to give me the quality care I needed for my depression at the partial hospital. She didn't like me for some reason and I didn't get the help I needed. I then had to be hospitalized for my depression.
