Most wasted 3-4months of appt,s I have made. Came to see her in bad shape and left her being worse and told to get a new doc as I was too complicated. She could not stay off her computer and just listen. Also I do not think she understands cold turkey benzo withdrawal time and consequences and I am paying the price now. She is a nice lady but not I think for difficult cases. I

I had been under the care of a different psychiatrist for 1.5 years but my condition was deteriorating due to lack of diagnosis and treatment. Dr Alexander diagnosed me within three office visits. She demonstrated empathy and was thorough in explaining the many different medications as we searched for a suitable pharmacological cocktail. She often sent me home with copies of information to read. She stopped seeing me when I lost my insurance. I had no income and my savings was disappearing quickly as I had not worked in a couple years by then. She felt she would not be serving me well by continuing to treat me and urged me to contact a social health services program. Seven years later I still struggle with Bipolar I and schizoaffective disorder. I feel that Dr Alexander was intuitive with her diagnosis and that she saved my life.
