Dr. Elizabeth Anne Arendt, MD

In 2002, I had a sporting accident and subsequent knee surgery that was poorly done and never needed in the first place. After five years and doctor after doctor telling me the pain was manageable and/or in my head (they couldn't see anything wrong on an MRI), Dr. Arendt was a light in the tunnel. She gave me two options for surgery but suggested the more conservative approach given the decent state of my ligaments and age. She was gracious, answered all of my questions, and made me feel very comfortable like no doctor had. She even agreed to do a spinal block instead of general anesthesia and answered some of my half-drugged questions mid-surgery. The surgery went very well, and the repair lasted for five years (through a very active lifestyle of mountain biking and skiing). When knee pain came back, I emailed her to get a suggestion on a new knee doctor in my new state. She suggested someone she'd worked with in the past, and not only was he also amazing, she actually flew from MN to… CO to be there for the consultation with him. What doctor is that invested in a past patient's outcome that they make everything line up for that to happen? I ended up getting the more comprehensive repair the second time around and am 8 years in, mountain biking, skiing, weight lifting, and couldn't be happier with my decision to see Dr. Arendt all those years ago.

I had a major surgery with Dr. A, knee cap replacemant/ligament grafts/quad muscle lengthening procedure, after years of living with dysfunctional knees my whole life & going to different Doctors with all of them never really giving me a diagnosis or any real answer, but Dr. A. changed my life!!! My rt. knee has never been better !! its stable & pain free & at 40 yrs old I have a toddler & no I am able to keep up with her ! Dr. A. is the absolute best!!! she has a direct/ get it done personality! which for some it can be offensive, she doesn't sugar coat things but I love her!! We even would joke with each other & had a great patient/Dr. relationship. I am going to be very sad if she ever retires as I will not trust anyone else! She knows her stuff!!

She did a complicated Right knee arthroscopy, lateral trochlea debridement and microfracture, screw removal x 2, V-Y quadplasty,vastus lateralis proximal transposition, medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction with allograft this was surgery number 12 and the best of any surgery I've ever had. She's truly a knee perfectionist. Don't let anyone bet her touch your knees.

Very poor bedside manner. One minute she is talking to you like you should already know your diagnosis and everything about it. The next minute she is very patronizing and condescending.

Dr Arendt is amazing. She exudes a sense of confidence that is extremely comforting. She has been right about everything about my knee, even when I doubted. She has a very direct personality - that simply leads to realistic goals,approaches and success. She definitely cares about her patients, and enjoys what she does. She does not rush you if you have concerns/questions. Great Listener! Often answers questions before you ask them.

Has been our daughter's surgeon for 9 years. Very compassionate. Sports injuries brought us to Dr Aren't for knee surguries and she has always made sure that she explain.ed as clearly as possible risks and benefits. Love her.

I will say that I think that Dr.Arendt is a very good surgeon.This is the ONLY reason why i still continue to see her.I would agree that she doesn't have a very good or professional bedside manner.I also would agree that it doesn't feel like you are a patient, it feels like you are a client.I always feel like she is always in a hurry and that i don't EVER get to ask her my questions.It feels like she would rather be some where else.I have also left her office feeling very offended by some of the things that she said.Her nurse isn't very professional.I have been waiting almost 4 months for her to return my call.Her only staff that is very nice and professional is the young lady that schedules you for surgery.

Absolutely no bedside manner. She treats you like a client, not a patient. On the day of my surgery, she was very rude to the nursing staff and the anesthesiologist; all in front of me. This made me very nervous and unhappy. I should have left at this point, but I didn't. Two months after my surgery (knee) I had limited range of motion in my leg. Her office has not returned my calls to schedule an evaluation. I'm in constant pain, and regret letting this doctor operate on me.

I came to Dr. Arendt with an extensive knee history, and was very nervous she wouldn't want to take on my case. Even though she had all of my previous medical records regarding my knee, she took the time to do her own exam, diagnosis, and plan. I have yet to meet another surgeon who cares as much as she does. Always looking out for you, and willing to give suggestions regarding treatment. Being hesitant towards my last surgery, we sat down for quite some time discussing everything, which made me feel 100 times better about the situation. I feel blessed everyday that I have this AMAZING surgeon caring for me!
