Dr. Elizabeth Sarah Barnert, MD

Dr. Barnert was thoughtful, patient, and very helpful. I trusted her advice, and she put me completely at ease.

She explained the situation and the plan in a clear and reassuring way.

I have called on Dr. Barnert over the years regarding various medical questions, issues and concerns that I have had. My experience has been that she is non-alarmist, compassionate, knowledgeable, pragmatic and has exceptional medical instincts - i.e. she seems to always be right. Pretty much what you want from your doctor. Any child would be lucky to have someone as fantastic as Dr. Barnert as their pediatrician and I really cannot recommend her highly enough.

I called UCLA a couple of days ago and wanted to speak to a doctor about a situation with my 8 year old which needed urgent medical attention. The operator had Dr. Barnert call me back, and I just had to share my thoughts about my interaction with this amazing doctor. Dr. Barnert went above and beyond to help with our situation and her kindness really meant a lit, especially given that I was so worried. Her voice sounded calm and collected and instantly made me feel at ease. I immediately sensed that this is someone who cares and I knew my daughter and I were in good hands. The symptoms my daughter had required some tests to be run at the clinic and Dr. Barnert kindly went as far as checking which urgent care we could go to that would take us that night. She then personally spoke to the staff there to make sure we were well taken care of. I was so pleased with her that I even asked if she would become my daughter’s pediatrician. :) Dr. Barnert was warm and took her time and made sure… I understood what was going on with my child. The world is a better place thanks to wonderful people like Dr. Barnert!

My wife and I had an appointment at her office at UCLA Medical Plaza. The appointment was at 3:00 PM. We arrived at 2:45 PM to take care of the initial paperwork. By 3:00 PM, we were asked to come in. A nurse weighed and measured our 3-day old son. Then, we were asked to wait in the room. And wait... And wait... 40 minutes later, a young doctor comes in accompanied by a medical student. The doctor asked us if it would be OK for the medical student to be in the room. We gladly agreed. After examining our son, while teaching the medical student, they said: "Your son looks great!" Let me give you a medical report print out, and you guys are set to go. We waited in the room. And waited... And waited... Then, they come back with Dr. Barnett. She then examines our child. She probably spent two minutes with our son, and left. Over all, we were at Dr. Barnett for over two hours for something that could have been done in 15 minutes, had Dr. Barnett seen us in the first place, and ON… TIME! If you appreciate your time and don't want your son to be a "number", don't go to this doctor!
