Dr. Elizabeth Andries Barron, MD

I only read reviews but never written. Dr Barron is so kind and wonderful..I've never seen a doctor like that ever before. Before i put my doubts she used to clairify I am so thankful to her being very friendly & caring and feeling lucky..

I have used Dr. Barron for 10 years. She delivered two of my three children. The middle child, delivered at UAB by a different doctor, had a birth defect. Dr. Barron continued to see me every month, and I saw the Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors at UAB monthly as well. She was EXTREMELY concerned with my "pregnancy with complications" and went above and beyond to make me feel secure. My child had gastroschisis, (intestines on outside of body)and Dr. Barron and her sonogram technician were able to find this problem early on. Dr. Barron called me personally to tell me there was a problem, and made time to meet with me to discuss things. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I was not feeling comfortable with the MFM docs at UAB, so I called Dr. Barron and she had me come in and they did an ultrasound they did not have to do to assure me baby was fine. My other two children were completely run of the mill deliveries, to which Dr. Barron was completely competent and kind. She went above and… beyond in my pregnancy with complications.... and I'll be forever grateful.

I have used Dr. Barron for 8 years now. She delivered both of my children via c-section. She is very caring, intelligent and informative. She was always willing to listen to and address any concern that I had no matter how small. She helped my manage my PPD as well. I would definately reccomend Dr. Barron!

If you have any complications this is not the doc or practice to go with! They are poorly managed and do not seem concerned with patient wellfare. Dr. Barron is a nice person but again not concerned with pregnancy complications as her nurse is expected to handle all phone concerns. I had significant bleeding at 12weeks and was told it will probably stop by the nurse over the phone. They did not feel it was necessary for me to have an appt. I am receiving bills for office co-pays 8 months later... poor medical care and office management is an understatement!
