Dr. Elizabeth Jane Beautyman, MD

Probably the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. Unfriendly and snotty and claimed not to know that all my symptoms I’ve had for weeks were bronchitis. Maybe she can’t stand female patients? Who knows but I would never return.

I have been a patient of Dr. Beautyman for many years, even when I relocated, it was hard to find a great replacement; thankfully I returned to NY and back in her hands! She is an awesome doctor, who has retired and I’m struggling to see how this new doctor will pan out — BIG SHOES!

I have been her patient many years. She has many attributes but the most distinctive is that she has a very sharp mind. She remembers, she reflects and she doesn’t miss anything. She is willing to share her knowledge and responds well to the inquisitive patient. I dread the thought of her ever retiring.

I've been a patient of Dr. Beautyman's for over 15 years. I originally chose her because her name was at the top of the alphabetical list when I had to choose an in-network doctor who was in my new insurance plan. I couldn't be happier than if I'd spent hours on research. She's smart, thorough, accessible, and most importantly thinks in a holistic way. She looks at any issue as one part of a whole system. I can't imagine having any other primary care physician.

Been with her many years. She's not warm and fuzzy, she's professional and formal. If you want overt sympathy, she's not the doctor for you. She knows her stuff, asks the right questions, stays on top of things. She is a doctor AND a scientist. She's thorough, in my experience. Will refer when necessary. Her admin staff has been uneven, not overly friendly, but direct and competent. I did find the Hello Health portal difficult to navigate, preferring direct contact with a person. I'm not sure she's still utilizing that service. But it is the direction that medicine is moving in, and what's to be done? I have been quite happy with her as a doctor. I'm lucky that I'm relatively healthy, but I've had my issues. She's referred to me cardiologists, GI specialists, gynecologists, and psychologists. My overall health I totally trust to her.

Unfortunately Dr. Beautyman has one office person who is just plain ole nasty! She thinks that she is better than the patients and talks to them as if they were dirt! I am speaking from experience, and two other people I recommended to Dr. Beautyman complained to me about the same issue. One of them said she gave her a hard time about rescheduling an appointment, which is just ridiculous.

I was referred to Dr Beautyman for pre op heart testing, my surgery was scheduled for 2 days later.I was given an EKG and although there were clearly suffient reasons to deny clearance, she cleared me for surgery. my anesthesiologist saw my results, would not do the surgery unless I had further tests.I had another cardiologist do tests and was told I needed a pacemaker and could have my knee surgery until I did.Four days later I received a pacemaker.She put me in danger, my heart could have stopped during the surgery. I called her recently to tell her how irresponsible it was, she called back 2 weeks later, left a very cold message saying I owed $10 and need to send it in, regardless of how I feel about her treatment... She is a cold, insensitive human being and a very irresponsible and negligent physician who should not be practicing medicine and putting patients in harms way.... Do not ever go to her...

She misdianosed my stage 4 cancer as depression and told me if I lost weight my joints would stop hurting. Refused to fill out disability paperwork while I was out on chemotherapy.Worse doctor ever.

Dr Beautyman has been my doctor for about 20 years. She has always been considerate and observant. I was impressed, for example, that she noticed that I lost about 10 lbs (from fasting) even though she only sees me once or twice a year. She also was my roommates doctor and took care of a serious medical condition she had with expertise. I also enjoy Dr Beautyman's sense of humor.
