Dr. Elizabeth Ann Burns, DO

Dr. Burns has been great. I can tell the negative reviews are written out of a poor mood and I could have a rebuttal for each of them. For example, "she stares at her laptop and just writes everything you say". She did this for my first initial visit as she has multiple patients, so she could get down as much info as possible so she can perform her job better by reviewing it even after we met. She then puts the laptop aside and will stay engaged in conversation the entire time, running past our allotted appointment time if she has too. This shows me that she cares and wants to take extra steps in helping her patients. Overall, she gives great advice and medical insight into whatever you are talking about. Never has she been lost for an answer that contains substance.

I have been seeing Dr. Burns with my son for four years. She is wonderful. She has helped my son so much and helped us as parents also.

Let's say you're here for about an hour. half of that time is her looking at her laptop trying to find your notes while she asks redundant questions she's asked the last time. forgetting what medications you've taken and so on and so forth. each time you come in doing fine she ups the medications and gives you different medications.

We saway Liz Burns for maybe a yr. Our 1st visit she took an hr to get all of our history and such. The next visit she was flustered and unorganized. She hadn't saved my son's info to her pcs. We basically had to do the whole intake over. After a yr or so my son was very adamant he did not like her and did not want to go back. He had been diagnosed with severe adhd since early childhood. Shortly after leaving Burns he was properly diagnosed with Aspergers and bipolar 2 by 2 other physicians. How do u see someone for over a yr and not recognize that? Because you really don't care and are only going off their old diagnosis from 6 yrs old? I will say the staff was always kind to him. I think they got a kick out of him. He is a funny kid. But Burns suggested regularly that I kick him out of the home.

Reading these reviews is sad. Liz was so kind and compassionate in her younger days!

She says "um" every third word when she's talking to you. She stares at her laptop and repeats and types everything you say.

Dr. Burns seems to not really enjoy doing her job. She seems exasperated and judgmental. The whole thing seems like a money hungry racket. From the rude staff to the rude doctor It seems like everyone is labeled to be the same unless your coming in there looking like you just went on a shopping spree at Nordstrom. Anyway that is here nor there if the doctor is good. When you call to have the doctor call you back you are not allowed to just leave a message for her to call you back when she can you have to tell a nosey receptionist everything so they can try to help you instead(but when dealing with medications I want the professional who prescribed me them to call me back, I do understand leaving a general message just FYI but not my whole ordeal; its uncomfortable.) But being told you may only have a 15 minute session when you have many concerns and your paying almost 200$ a month because they refuse to take insurance to see her is quite astounding. She demanded did I have blood work… done that she didn't even order! She seems annoyed, uninterested, and not understanding of problems. When seeing a psychiatrist they need to be interested and understanding that's the whole point in my opinion. I have suffered more from coming here than not.

Staff was extremely rude. I couldn't stand to make an appointment because I knew I had to deal with her awful staff, when I did make an appointment I would have to wait at least an hour. She wouldn't pay much attention and was very judgement. She did somewhat listen when diagnosing, but that is about it. Overall bad experience.

Terrible staff.they only care about money

I only went to her once and never returned. I knew she wasn't good because before you even get through the consultation she demands blood work and a drug test. She doesn't trust any patients- says that she refuses to help you unless your drug tests come back clean- and is overall very bitter and judgmental. I never got to a second visit and I would advise you don't both trying a first. She's not worth your co-pay.
